Mission Statment

As a community of educators, our mission is to provide expanded enrichment and academic opportunities for students in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. 

Our vision is to provide a space where all students can develop and grow while experiencing a sense of belonging within their community.

General Program Information

Program Hours

School Days: End of school until 5:15 p.m.

Non-School Days: 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (Requires advance sign-up via ParentSquare).

Attendance & Absence Reporting

Attendance is flexible, stay for the whole session or just a portion.

⚠️ Important: If your student attends school but will NOT attend Hilmar Hive that afternoon, you must notify the office to ensure student accountability.

Student Sign-Out & Late Policy

Location: The sign-out office is off the Lander parking lot, just south of the Elim office.

Authorized Pickup: Only persons listed on the authorized contact list may sign out a student.

Late Pick-up: The program ends at 5:15 p.m. Please be punctual; repeated late pick-ups may result in removal from the program per the district handbook.

 

General Program Information

Who Can Attend? The Hilmar Hive program is available to all students enrolled at Hilmar Elementary and Elim Elementary.

Program Hours

  • School Days: Dismissal until 5:15 p.m.

  • Full-Day Intersessions: 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (Available during select holiday breaks; sign-ups are announced via ParentSquare).

What a Typical Day Looks Like Students participate in age-appropriate activities designed to balance learning and fun:

  • Nutrition: Healthy snacks and supper provided daily.

  • Academics: Literacy support, read-alouds, and dedicated time for reading logs.

  • Enrichment: Hands-on rotations including Art, Nature Discovery, and STEM.

  • Physical Activity: Structured PE and supervised outdoor play.

Enrollment & Participation

How to Join

  • Submit Interest: Fill out our online enrollment form.

  • Processing: Applications are reviewed monthly based on availability.

  • Confirmation: You will receive a call from the ELOP office to finalize your student's start date.

Attendance & Behavior

  • Flexible Attendance: Students do not need to attend every day. However, if your child is at school but will miss the after-school program, please notify the office.

  • The Hive Way: We follow the school-day rules: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Responsible. Students earn "Comb Cash" for positive behavior to use at our weekly prize store!

  • Pick-Up: All students must be signed out by an authorized adult by 5:15 p.m.

Ready to join ELOP? Complete our online interest form to begin the enrollment process. Once submitted, our ELOP Secretary, Gisselle Salazar, will contact you to confirm your student's official start date.
